Contemporary art is “all the rage” in many quarters, and my annual auction for Northumbria University takes place on Monday at The Great Hall of the Sutherland Building – easy to find, just down the road from the Haymarket metro station. Click here for the link to the catalogue, which as usual contains paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, etc.
Such modern pieces go strikingly well with domestic home furnishings, and work from these emerging young artists is quite often better than money in the bank, investment-wise.
The collection is on view from mid-day on Monday, with the sale itself starting at 7pm. The university art department auctions have quite a creative atmosphere, supported by staff, alumni, parents and friends and there will be a bar going for the whole of the evening.
Have a scroll through the catalogue by following the link here or visit the event itself, and examine the pieces first hand.
If you are unable to attend the event, please contact us regarding placing a bid.
